A delegation led by General secretaries Hardial Singh Aman and Balwinder Singh Bhullar of Shiromani Akali Dal delhi (led by Parmjit Sarna ) sought Jathedar Akal Takht’s intervention to procure themrelease of Sikh hardliners of Punjab who were arrested during the Punjab and call on march 28th issued by Akal Takhat Sahib (highest Sikh temporal seat).
During the meeting with Jathedar Akal Takhat here today delegation asked Jathedar to issue directions to Punjab government to release Sikh leaders Jaswinder Singh Baliyewal, youth leader SAD Delhi Gurdip Singh Gosha, Baba Baljeet Singh Daduwal and Daljit Singh Bittu who were arrested by cops of Punjab police on flimsy ground. Since they were actively participating in the Punjab Bandh call issued from Akal Takhat.
To save Balwant Singh Rajoana from death gallows, was the foremost duty of five Sikh leaders who made the Punjab bandh call successful as a reason , President of India granted stay on the hanging orders of Rajoana, stated in the memorandum submitted to Jathedar Akal Takht Gyani Gurbachan Singh.
Punjab government headed by Prakash Singh Badal came on political vendetta when hanging order of Rajoana was stayed which was due to the efforts of Sikh leaders who mounted pressure on government of India by making the Punjab band call successful. But unfortunately Punjab Government put them behind the bars on the ground that they were disturbing the law and orders of the state, memorandum added.
By arresting these leaders Badal Government has not only insulted the Sikh leaders but also the edict of Akal Takhat. Hence arrested Sikh leaders should be released forthwith, urged in the memorandum.
Talking about the bloody shooting incident of Gurdapur district wherein Sikh youth Jaspal Singh was shot dead by the gun fires shot by the troops of Punjab police which depicted errant and wayward behaviour of Punjab police, said delegation by adding that jathedar Akal Takht was urged to declare Jaspal singh as martyr.
