Relieved after the stay over his hanging as scheduled by a Chandigarh court, Balwant Singh Rajoana on Thursday expressed happiness over the new development and termed it a victory of Khalsa Panth.
The militant shot off a letter to media through his sister Kamaldeep Kaur, stating that the stay over his hanging was the result of pressure created by the “leadership-less” Sikh community across the globe.
“This is a victory of real Khalsa Panth after every member of the Sikh community rose to the occasion and successfully conveyed the strength of the Khalsa religion,” said Rajoana.
He said, “During the Punjab bandh call on Wednesday, I smelled a great strength of the Sikh religion which adhered to my appeal of unfurling saffron flags on the households to protest against the cruelty by Delhi government against the Sikh.”
“When every household of Punjab was unfurling saffron flag, I saw the fulfillment of dreams of Khalistan being conceptualised by martyrs of Sikh religion,” he said.
He, however, said, “I am ready to be hanged at any time and will live till the God permits me.”
“My happiness over the stay shouldn’t be considered as my weakness. I am happy because Sikh religion has shackled the walls of Delhi government, not because my hanging has been postponed,” said Rajoana.
