AMRITSAR: The Rashtrawadi Shiv Sena (RSS) took out a march on Friday, in protest against the name of Jarnail Singh Bhindrawale being inscribed on the gate of the Operation Bluestar Memorial built in the Golden Temple complex. Given the sensitivity of the issue, the administration didn’t allow the RSS members to march up to Shani Mandir, situated close to Golden Temple, following which they sat on dharna outside the Hall Gate.
Later, RSS state president Anil Tandon said the Sena had earlier also cautioned the state government not to encourage militant elements and the government had assured that the memorial would be a gurdwara without having anything to do with any militant. “Martyrs are those who had died at the hands of militants, and not the militants, who killed innocent and unleashed a spate of terrorism in Punjab,” said Tandon.
