Man held for khalistan tees, sets off row

The seizure of around two hundred pro-Khalistani T-shirts in Ludhiana by Punjab police has turned into a controversy. The police had on Thursday seized the T-shirts from a manufacturing unit. The T-shirts, bearing Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale’s picture with “Pakke Khalistani” (True Khalistani) written on them, were being manufactured in this unit.

The matter took a political turn as the police booked Manwi-nder Singh Gyaspura, under Section 153 of IPC. He is the whistleblower in Hondh-Chillar massacre in Haryana. Now Right wing Dal Khalsa has come out in his support and wants the FIR against him cancelled.?Police sources say it looking in the matter as the government had issued specific instruction to show “zero tolerance” towards any activity that vitiated the peaceful atmosphere in the state.
