Manpreet will realise his mistake after elections

Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Monday said the results of the State Assembly elections would make former Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal, realise his mistake of leaving the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), as he and his party would be completely routed.

Manpreet Badal recently launched third front along with the Left and Shiromani Akali Dal (Longowal) after formation of a new party, People’s Party of Punjab.

Addressing a gathering during the Sangat Darshan program of eight villages falling in Gidderbaha, the Chief Minister lamented that the former Finance Minister ditched his mother party, which had given him coveted positions.

Badal said that despite of the fact that he had nurtured the political career of Manpreet by handing over his native Assembly constituency of Gidderbaha, his nephew ditched the party by joining hands with the Congress in a covert manner.

However he said that people of the State would never forgive him for this betrayal and they would teach him a befitting lesson in the coming elections. “The elections will prove that people of State do not support defectors and Manpreet will not get even a single seat in Assembly’ he added.

Lashing out at the rivals of the SAD-BJP alliance, the CM said that the opposition parties do not have any leader of mass appeal who could give fight to the alliance due to which they were relying on the defectors of the SAD to contest elections in the State.

He categorically said that the PPCC president Captain Amarinder Singh, former CM Surjeet Sigh Barnala and Manpreet Badal are the defectors of SAD, who have deceived their mother party for their vested interests. “But the people are aware that these people had done nothing for the State and they will teach all these traitors a lesson in coming polls” added Badal.

Assailing the Congress led UPA Government, the Chief Minister said that due to the wrong policies of this Government, the poor people were reeling under the burden of inflation.
