BSP hints at going it alone in assembly polls in Punjab

FARIDKOT/BAGHAPURANA: Belying the claims of Sanjha Morcha chairman Manpreet Badal that an alliance with BSP is at final stages, the latter is preparing to go it alone in the upcoming elections to state assembly. Addressing party rallies at Faridkot and Baghapura in Moga on Monday, BSP Punjab incharge Narinder Kashyap said that BSP has not entered into any electoral pact with any party so far and that the party may go it alone. He said BSP is concentrating its energy at activating party cadres for the upcoming elections.

“As of now, there is no alliance with Sanjha Morcha. But whatever decision (about alliance) is taken by party high command, the state unit will act accordingly”. Calling both SAD-BJP and Congress as anti-people, Kashyap said people have tried both the parties for long. These parties could not solve even the basic problems of people and it is time to throw them away. He said BSP could provide a better alternative to SAD-BJP and Congress and that the party is gaining ground in Punjab, as people want change.

Calling the UPA government as inefficient, Kashyap said it failed to control rising prices and poor people are feeling the heat due to its lopsided policies. He also assailed the SAD-BJP government saying they too did not provide any facility to poor sections of society and has promoted corruption. Both the parties remember people only at the time of elections, he added.
